The story of two little girls, one Irish, one Portuguese, who reached great heights of holiness in the early 20th century. Jacinta Marto, beatified in 2000, is well known as one of the seers of Fatima. Less well known is Nellie Organ – Little Nellie of Holy God – who, although she was only four and a half years old when she died in Cork, had already been confirmed and was receiving the Eucharist. St Pius X affirmed that she was his justification for the 1910 decree Quam Singulari which permitted frequent Communion for children.
